We have a Human Resources Internship Program just for you!

  • You will learn why the Human Resources field is a universal language that can be used in any business or industry.
  • You will be able to meet other Human Resources professionals who work in fun businesses, such as Busch Gardens, News Channel 8, Chromalloy Alloys, Florida Aquarium, etc.
  • Get introduced to college students who are studying Human Resources.
  • Earn a scholarship for accredited college of your choice.
  • Have a mentor available to guide you through the program.

Workforce Readiness Committee Survey

The Workforce Readiness Committee is committed to educating High School students about Human Resources as a profession.  This committee provides opportunities for the students to gain HR knowledge, partner with local businesses, and earn college scholarships. Click HERE for the survey.

HR Tampa’s Workforce Readiness Mission:

Advance the Human Resources (HR) profession by building partnerships with Tampa Bay area schools and businesses. Our partnerships will allow us to create an internship program for students interested in learning
more about the HR discipline.


What We Do!

HR Tampa’s Workforce Readiness Program is a non-profit organization committed to advancing the HR profession by providing programs and resources that enable those individuals either, entering the workforce for the first time,
or re-entering the workforce be prepared and able to meet the demands of a constantly evolving workforce. HR Tampa’s Workforce Readiness Program attempts to achieve these goals of providing programs and resource to those in need through its partnerships with various state and local entities.


Outstanding Accomplishments

Workforce Readiness has hosted the HR Prodigy group since 2011. It has been our mission to engage high
school juniors to the community, help them prepare for the working world and raise funds to award scholarships to
those who complete the program requirements and have proven themselves as high achievers. As these students
graduate from high school and enter college, these awards have made it possible for them to pay for a portion
of their tuition and buy books.


Five students were awarded scholarships for 2015.   They were recently honored and presented with their
awards at the HR Tampa dinner meeting on February 17, 2016:


Shakaria Leonard, Tampa Bay Tech             $1000.00 award

Arletis Alfonso, Leto High School                 $1000.00 award

Patrice Henry, Tampa Bay Tech                   $ 500.00 award

Karyna Mejia, Robinson High School             $ 250.00 award

Clara Valencia, Chamberlain High School      $ 250.00 award

Guests of the students also attended representing the respective schools:  Stephanie Rittenour, District
Resource Teacher, Career Tech;  Sandra Gault, teacher, Leto; Ernestine Woody-Bethune,  Assistant Principal
of Curriculum; and Rebecca Anzevino, teacher.
