|A Note to Veteran Initiative Volunteers|
As we come to the close of 2015, I would like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation for all you have done to move this Initiative forward. I would like to thank the leadership of HR Tampa for their never-ending support and encouragement throughout the year and specifically, the timeless comments received from Melissa Robinson, HR Tampa’s President and Debby Erdahl, Workforce Readiness Chair, who have provided us with the fuel we have needed to make a difference in the veteran community.
Additionally, I would like to express my personal thanks and appreciation to Mr. Troy Johnson, Transition Assistance Program (TAP) Manager from MacDill Air Force Base for his tireless efforts, ongoing support and encouragement, and dedication to see this Initiative get off the ground…with the help of his staff and the MacDill veteran community. Thank you Troy! J
Many of you have taken the time to send us a letter, write an e-mail, make a phone call, participate in a meeting or event, and simply offer a generous smile or encouraging word while walking through a hallway. Your words are more than a symbol or gesture, because they serve as the reason we will continue with this effort in the days ahead.
Little did we know that a simple survey of HR Tampa membership back in mid-2014 would propel us to the center stage that we now find ourselves and quite simply, it cannot continue without your help, support and participation.
“2016 will be a year of great expectation, increased participation
and measureable results from all of us.”
As a human resource (HR) professional, each of us have an obligation to meet the ever challenging workforce issues that face us, not only within the civilian community, but the military community that serves this great country.
We trust you have had a wonderful year and look forward to working with you in 2016! If you would like to become involved in this Initiative, please reach out to us via e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more details.
Your Friend and Colleague,
Bernard “Bernie” D. Currie, SHRM-CP, PHR
