Demonstrating the Value of Talent Programs to Sr Leadership


Using modern science and practice findings from the field of Industrial and Organizational (I/O) Psychology, this presentation will demonstrate why talent programs have the potential to be so valuable within organizations, how to use best practices and legal guidelines to support strategic organizational goals, and, importantly, what makes the ROI of talent programs resonate with senior leadership. Emphasizing the role of process, partnership and data, this session will detail how to create talent programs that are both effective and perceived as critical for organizational success.

Craig R. Dawson, PhD, is Director of HR Assessments for InVista. Craig is a seasoned Industrial–Organizational (I-O) Psychologist, focused on client usability, fairness, and performance, principles that guided his work developing online hiring systems for some of the largest employers in the world, organizations such as American Express, Boeing, Disney, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless.

In his capacity as Senior Director for the SHL, he was successful in developing more than 200 mass-market online employment tests. Craig is also the primary architect and inventor SHL’s patented assessment methodology (

Craig is a member SHRM, HR-Tampa, and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, frequently presenting at the latter’s annual conference and publishing in peer-reviewed academic journals.
