HR Tampa Transitioning Membership

What is a transitioning membership at HR Tampa?

HR Tampa provides prior-year active members who are unemployed at the time of the membership renewal a one-time opportunity to rejoin as a Basic member for up to one year!   We will waive the Basic membership dues through the end of the calendar year at no cost!  HR Tampa knows the continued association with our organization will assist transitioning members stay current on the HR profession and issues.  The affiliation to HR Tampa will provide transitioning members with the needed resources and support to assist them in their job search.

Who qualifies for transitioning membership?

To be eligible for the Basic transitioning membership, you must meet the following criteria:

• Have been an Basic or Premium HR Tampa member, in good standing for the immediate prior year
• Be unemployed
• Be a current member of SHRM and designate HR Tampa as your local chapter (#074)

Please note that refunds cannot be given for membership renewals already paid. Student members do not qualify for transitioning membership status.

What benefits are included with a transitioning HR Tampa membership?  

HR Tampa transitioning members will receive all of the Basic membership benefits for up to one year, expiring December 31^st of the current calendar year, and will receive the following benefits:

• Register to attend any HR Tampa meeting for the cost of the meeting
• Register and pay to attend the annual HR Tampa Expo
• Earn HRCI credits as available when attending HR Tampa meeting or event
• Receive monthly HR Tampa Newsletter
• Listing in the HR Tamp online membership directory
• Access to HR Tampa Career link and free job posting on the site.
• Email communications and notices to events, workshops, the annual HR Tampa Expo, etc.
• Opportunity to attend networking events

How do I apply for a transitioning membership in HR Tampa?

Please note that a transitioning Basic membership is available to members on a one-time only basis.  Application for transitioning membership must be requested and approved before renewal is processed.  No refunds will be given if a membership is renewed and then an individual loses their job.  Please contact Membership Director, Tim Howard at  membership@hrtampa.org

Congratulations! We are delighted to be able to support and encourage you. Remember to renew your HR Tampa membership next January!   And spread the word, tell a friend!

 Members in Transition Forum

HR Tampa and Right Management have combined efforts to help our members who are in transition. If you are an HR Tampa member in career transition, please plan to join this exciting group.  Participants receive advice on job search strategies and techniques, interviewing skills, job search communication material, personal branding, and assistance with researching and targeting job opportunities and overcoming challenges. The forum will provide participants an opportunity to exchange information, share leads, ideas and resources, while networking and supporting fellow Chapter members.
